Every Thing The Light Touches
Wicklow-based composer Danny Forde’s art-folk band Every Thing The Light Touches’ first release, Animal, was featured in Apple Music’s flagship playlist Today’s Top Hits and has been hailed as “soul-stirring and enchanting” and as “crafting an incredible sonic fabric threaded with authenticity and emotion” (Plastic Mag).
Every Thing The Light Touches’ music sits at the crossroads of Elbow, Bon Iver, Crosby Stills & Nash, Damien Rice and Nick Drake, lushly instrumented with fingerpicking guitar, vocal harmony, piano, string quartet, singing bowls and carefully placed drums. Its greatest inspiration comes from the power of music to bring people together, to heal and uplift spirits in a way that transcends social structures.
Following a moment of spiritual awakening, Danny embarked on extensive travels across the US and Europe, seeking collaborators to capture their flow-state on recordings made in bedrooms, living rooms, high-end studios and remotely from across the world. The result is the stunning debut mini album ‘What Else Is There?’, mixed and mastered by Mike Cave (Lewis Capaldi, James Vincent McMorrow), which offers perspectives on that most important subject, Love. Each song dives into a different aspect or manifestation of what we call love – from romantic love, parental and family love, to universal and God love, which bookends the record. The record will be released on March 28th 2025 on all digital platforms and limited edition 10" vinyl.
Danny Forde’s extensive previous work as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, music director and arranger has appeared in concert halls, theatres, and TV shows worldwide. His music recently featured double Oscar nominated film The Apprentice. A recipient of the prestigious Fulbright award, he has also collaborated with a wealth of other Artists including Lau Noah, Loah, Denise Chaila, Bill Whelan, Hozier, FELISPEAKS and Anais Mitchell. His songs with Irish-Scandinavian trio Karmacloud have clocked up almost 1 millions streams on Spotify. He is a seasoned live performer, having toured and performed in festivals, venues and theatres throughout Europe and the USA.
