Feather Beds is the musical moniker of Dublin artist, Michael Orange. The second album, Blooming, was released on the 27th October 2017 on Montreal label, Moderna Records.
The album was recorded while Orange was based in Montreal over a two year period and features seven songs in total. Formerly a drummer with Dublin bands, Subplots, Autumn Owls and The Star Department – Feather Beds is his first foray as a solo artist.
Fat Cat Records picked up on album track, Play Dead, featuring it on their site in 2016, with the track featuring on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1 with Huw Stephens.
Mixed and co-produced by Stephen Shannon (Mount Alaska, Strands, Halfset, Adrian Crowley), Blooming follows on from 2015's critically acclaimed debut album, The Skeletal System, and is available on cassette and digitally. The first half of 2018 will see live shows at home and abroad, along with remixes from Mount
Alaska and Twinkranes.
