Sonically speaking Amy Winehouse has dinner with Portishead in an up-market greasy spoon; Great White Lies sound resides in the alley on the way back. Jazz and funky soul permeate through their inventive ‘weird pop’ sound.
In 2015 Great White Lies self-released their debut ep to critical acclaim including a nomination from Pure M for best ep and winning VAI Song of The Year. Their performance highlights include Guth Gafa International Film Festival, Allingham Arts Festival and headling Galway Fringe.
Throughout 2016 they toured internationally in Canada & showcase gigs in Los Angeles. Amongst their favourite gigs were Stendhal Festival of Art, YouBloom Dublin and a live tv performance on RTE 1, Bloom Live from Phoenix Park.
In 2017; the BBC featured 3 of their songs in the documentary ‘Love In A Day’. They toured Ireland with their single “Sunday Shapes”. Received accolades from Hot Press, airplay from BBC Radio Ulster, Flirt FM, Dublin City FM. Garnered a MyCreative Edge award as well as Sounds Like Summer award from Derry City & Strabane Council & supported Hannah Peel at Northern Xposure festival in Donegal.
2018 saw their release of “Near & Far” & “Red”, the latter receiving accolades from Across The Line, Get In Her Ears, Chordblossom and other airplay and blogs. They supported Feeder in June and Hannah Peel at Northern Xposure.
2019 Siobhán created the soundtrack to ‘Bleed’ for Farset Films. Received rave reviews for the politically charged single ‘Fear’ in June. The debut album ‘Chrysalis’ was released in November with receiving airplay from KCLR, BBC Radio Ulster, Highland Radio, 8Radio and Flirt FM to name a few and was listed in Golden Plec music critic John Loftus's top 20 Irish albums of 2019.
