heavy set bayonet

Indie // Derry, Derry

Heavy Set Bayonet are a ballsy indie band from Derry, Northern Ireland. HSB formed in January 2010 and relentlessly gigged in every bar and music venue they could sink their grimey, little teenage hands into. Since their beginnings, they have crafted a dynamic, aggressive yet vaguely danceable set and when teamed with raw onstage energy and cranked up to the level of the shrill cries from Jedward fans everywhere following their inevitable murder, you’ve got yourself a pretty intense show.

HSB have supported acts such as Blood Red Shoes, Pulled Apart By Horses, Fighting with Wire, LaFaro & Furlo as well as playing headline shows across various venues. They have also recorded two 4 track EPs in Blast Furnace Studios, Derry with the exceedingly handsome Mik O'Connell- "Remember All the Bits" (in September 2010) and "Talk To Me, Tell Me" (in August 2011), which has seen them receive airtime on local radio stations including praise from Stephen McCauley on Electric Mainline, plays on Radio Ulster and their track "This Again" was Rory McConnell's Recommnedation in the Nation on BBC Introducing where it received positive reviews from Ash's Tim Wheeler.
