I Dreamed I Dream are a five-piece band from Cork. Their sound has been described as an existential Leeside hellscape, taking in elements of post-punk, dreampop, Sean-Nós and 60s girl groups, to scratch the surface.
“the band have quickly become an exciting live proposition” - Zara Hedderman, The Thin Air
“One of the most exciting bands to have emerged in recent times” - Mike McGrath-Bryan, Irish Examiner
Beginning life as Patty and Selma, a two-piece comprised of current vocalist/drummer Julie Landers and guitarist Elle O’Leary Kelleher, the band were invited to perform at Sligo’s Spilt Milk Festival in 2021, and from there, a live band came together via their circles of friends, expanding to its current five-piece line-up in 2022 with the additions of Claire Aherne (vocalist/bassist), Laura Dineen (guitarist) and Niamh (nee-uv) Hayes (synths).
In the past eighteen months, the band has performed across Ireland, and at festivals including Dublin’s MusicTown, Cork Midsummer Festival, Limerick’s Féile na Gréine and the Clonakilty Guitar Festival, as well as opening for post-punk legend Gina Birch, Limerick poet Sinéad O’Brien, Cork psych-rock catalysts The Altered Hours, and indie veterans The Frank and Walters, among others.
Debut single Apparition, released in September 2023 and available across all streaming services, served as the lead-off for the October 2023 release of debut extended-player Why Say a Lot?
