Ignition have been writing and performing together since 2014. Their diverse sound is brought about by a variety of musical interests, including infectious contemporary pop music, lyric-based folk and the energetic rock-guitar sound of the eighties. With a vested interest in authenticity and emotive songwriting, the band should appeal to fans of catchy hooks as well as powerful ballads. Having built up a steady fanbase in their first few years through gigs at such venues as Campbell's Tavern, The Blackbox Theatre and The Roisin Dubh, the band launched their debut EP ‘If It Hurts’ to a crowd of over 200 at The Loft in January 2017. Since then they have continued to perform and increase their fanbase.
The group will be releasing new music in September 2019 with the hope of building towards their long term goals of headlining the Galway Arts Festival and touring the UK.
