In Elegance are a female fronted alternative rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In January 2012 they released their eponymous debut E.P. which has been met in the short time since its release, with widespread critical acclaim and led to prestigious supporting slots on national tours with established artists such as Young Guns and Kill Hannah.
History
In Elegance formed in early 2011, all five members having been involved in minor projects previously, now seeking to be genuinely different to anything existing on the scene. The band quickly began writing, gigging both in Ulster and the Republic of Ireland, and recording singles on a shoestring budget. These early recordings, though basic, gained BBC Radio one, BBC Radio Ulster, and Belfast stations Blast 106 FM and Radio Feilte.
In the autumn of 2011, In Elegance went to Manor Park Studios to record their Debut EP with Neal Calderwood(Fighting With Wire, Jody Has A Hitlist, General Fiasco). Once produced, it instantly attracted the attention of the local BBC Introducing DJs, who began circulation of the tracks prior to release on both BBC Radio One and BBC Radio Ulster.
