MATT TAYLOR

Dublin raised MATT TAYLOR paints an intimate self-portrait with his emotive brand of supercharged pop. Production-wise, MATT pays homage to Hyperpop pop legends such as SOPHIE and A.G. Cook. He is unafraid to introduce layers of twisted synth upon rippling bass, yet simultaneously exhibit pop-flavored melodies parallel to the work of Taylor Swift and Lorde. MATT embodies this relentless expression in all aspects of his persona: his zippy, bold attitude, sharp, vibrant style, and piercing white hair. All of which are bountifully packaged within his music. Sharing more about this process he explains:

“reading back over my lyrics is a conversation with myself. A chance to reflect on my mistakes and learn from my flaws. I also think that‘s why people easily connect to my music“.

“Production helps a lot. A key sample within my latest single was the London Tube. I recorded the tube on the Piccadilly & Circle line to make some weird washing noises. They were impossible to EQ properly, so I almost had to build the track around them rather than the other way around”
