Javier Carrillo (Javi) is a singer-songwriter, multi instrumentalist, and producer based in Dublin, Ireland.
Born in Peru, his biggest influences were the alternative rock from the 80s and 90s, and the "trova" music popular in South America. He also lived in Italy for a few years where he studied and polished his piano and guitar skills.
Motivated by its music scene, he moves to Ireland where he joins a songwriting programme at BIMM which also connects him with local bands like Darwin's Daughter and NIMF with whom he collaborates as guitarist and drummer.
In 2017, he jumps to the Dublin scenarios as a solo artist and releases his first single, Talking Dogs, a dreamy indie song about parting ways with friends.
Since then, Javier has continued to shape his sound and carve a space for himself in the Dublin scene. Both as solo, and with his power trio band, he delivers powerful yet intimate performances. His music can be described as rich in harmonies, with delicate atmospheric guitar chords, and lyrics that invite us to a journey of emotions and make us reflect on everyday life.
In 2021, with the help of Dublin producer Tully Gun, he is preparing the release of "No Sorrow", a punchy yet introspective song about resilience and hope. He recently won a contest by UK production house PresentDayProduction to have his song "All My Life" produced by Sam Reck with support of top UK musicians, which will be released in 2022.
