Toro began to play piano when she was 4, penned her first song at age 8 (after her dog died) and began to write seriously at 15. Set to release her debut album, hers is a quirky blend of alternative pop and soft synthy electronica. Toro’s intelligent and often abstract lyrics track themes from societal greed to fame whores, from the heartbeat of a city to her personal experiences within the music business.
Jenna released her very first single, Electric City, in November 2009 which was championed by RTEs Dave Fanning and Today FMs Tony Fenton. Having performed in Tripod, The Waterfront, The Academy, Ulster Hall, The Button Factory and Crawdaddy, she returned to Oxegen for the second time in 2010 where she took the Red Bull Music Academy Stage. She was well received by fans and critics alike; Hotpress touting her ‘electro maven’ after having performed much new material at the festival. Her debut album is one to watch out for.
