Jess Kav

Alternative // Dublin 8, Dublin // She Her

Optimistic dark pop, alt-soul and cheeky disco for the over-thinkers.

Jess Kav is excited to share her new music and her first solo work with the world with her release of "Genesis" in 2024 and "January Lullaby (Shut Up And Rest)" in 2025 with four more releases in 2025. She is somewhere between an angry Enya, Brittany Howard and Zach De La Rocha. Kav has been a prominent session vocalist, front woman, poet and playwright in Ireland for many years. It is 2024 she decided to step out (terrifyingly) as a solo artist and begin releasing her music under her own name.

Her sold-out one-woman musical play, "Fermented Dreams" (September 2024), showcased her ability to intertwine humour, vulnerability, and profound self-reflection. Character "Noelle" shows up late to a showcase event and attempts to win the judges favour while battling with her own issues around addiction, validation and self-love. The show captivated audiences with its exploration of the tensions between art, identity, and the pressures of modern life. In Jan 2025 Kav sold out her first headline gig at The Workman's Cellar, Dublin and gave an electrifying performance with bandmates Korey O Byrne (Bricknasty), Louis Younge (Bricknasty) and Finn O Reilly (Left Iris).

Now a Kildare resident, Kav spends her days walking the canal and spending time bought by the Music Bursary Award to produce her music and developing her talents to become an autonomous producer and songwriter. She teaches teenagers in under-privileged areas in Dublin beat making and songwriting. She has one cover gig in town every weekend where she sings Toto and Thin Lizzy. As she finds her sound through her own production talents her music is becoming increasingly "Ableton Punk" and she is currently nurturing her Patreon and Substack accounts called "Two Loops and The Truth".
