Jodavino

Rock // Cork

Jodavino were formed in July 2005 by brother and sister duo, Joe and Aoibheann Carey. The two joined forces with Joe Philpott on guitar, Humphrey Murphy on bass and David Ryan on drums to complete the lineup.

The group's debut album 'Deep End' was independently released to much critical praise in September '06. The first single, ‘Move Me’ was chosen as single of the week on the Tony Fenton show on Today FM and voted Cork Song of the Year by listeners on Red FM.

The band completed a video for 'Some Love' in March '07 with Irish filmmaker Cathal Watters and acclaimed video director, Chipps Chipperfield (The Beatles, Paul MacCartney). Extensive touring in ’07, both domestically and in Europe, won Jodavino countless new fans and saw the band play two shows at the Live at the Marquee series of concerts and play to 2,000 people in the Old Square in Prague.

Jodavino are now set to release their new album, “Say It Like It Is”, in September.

Recorded with Grammy award winning producer Jay Joyce in his Tragedy/Tragedy studio in Nashville, “Say It Like It Is” represents a giant leap forward in terms of Jodavino’s musical journey and sees the band weave their way through the upbeat energetic rock that they’re know for live into into darker, melodic depths.

Producer Jay Joyce (www.jayjoyce.net) has previously worked with Patty Griffen, Tim Finn, Gillian Welsh, Cage The Elephant Audio Adrenaline (2006 Grammy Award Winners) and has an extensive & enviable track record as a producer, musician and songwriter of note.
