John Hogan Junior is best known for his performances on The Voice of Ireland '14. As a member of 'TEAM DOLORES', John was the only person EVER to perform 'ORIGINAL' material on The Voice- A worldwide exclusive in the live shows with 'FREAKY WILD'l! But the most epic moment of The Voice 2014 was the performance of his original song' LITTLE BOY BLUE' for which all four coached turned. During his time on The Voice, John worked closely with worldwide rock icon, singer songwriter and front woman for THE CRANBERRIES, Dolores O'Riordan.

''Ive veered away from the usual singer/ songwriter format slightly. Of late I've been working a lot with a loop pedal, using a mix of acoustic and electric guitar, vocals, and the subtle use of percussion is great for setting up the beat also. In every sense tho, using loops or not, my main focus these days is just creating a good vibe and good music for the night; start to finish.''
In 2010 'Rise High King Rise' his début single was a folk/roots track designed around a rhythmic flow and influenced by Africa percussion crossed with traditional Irish music. Rise widely received and got national and international air play. Rise can be listened to on the player.
John Junior toured Europe with Irish music and dance show, Dance Masters, produced by Michael Durkan of GFD Promotions. During this time John fronted the show singing originals and well known ballads and backed Traditional Irish tunes while playing alongside the very talented accomplished mudicians Ben Gunnery, Mark Conyard and Paddy Egan. It was while working on Dance Masters after a conversation with fellow musician Paddy Egan about Brian Boru the first High King of Ireland, John came up with Rise High King Rise. It was also inspired by his roots and his own personal history with Trad and Ballads. John's father is an All Ireland Banjo Champion, singer songwriter and founder member of well known ballad group BORU. Check out his music and more on JHFOLK.COM
