Kez

Folk // Phibsborough, Dublin // She/Her

Tipped by BBC's Phil Taggart as “one of Ireland’s next important voices” in 2022, Kez is re-emerging two years later from dark waters, carrying with her a crucible, in which she has spent the last two years mixing, melting, redefining, reconstituting, shaping a sound that perfectly infuses Ireland's dark folk world with something spell-binding, something beautiful, something terrifying.

Kez's music is of nature. Specifically, of the raw and rough Irish landscape - unbounded and expansive. Her work depicts mysterious gardens, empty rivers, onyx Atlantic waters - all marching to the beat and rhyme of thunder-drums and stone-smoothed vocals.

Over the last few years, Kez has played at numerous festivals across Ireland including Éalú le Grá and Mirabili and, while living between Ireland and the USA, she has gigged in New York, California, and Dublin. Having been mentored by legendary producer Albhy Galuten over the last few years as she has developed her sound, 2024 is the year of Kez's slow reveal.
