Kodu

Electronica // Limerick

Kodu is an electronic music project based in Limerick City, Ireland. The groupʼs style combines the pensive waves of downtempo and electronica with the grooves of funk, jazz and world music to create a visceral live experience that moves from contemplative head-nodders to danceable bangers.

Kodu was formed in 2015 by friends Dillon Reid (production, electronic performance) and Darren Curtin (guitar) during their time at university. Their first song Awaken garnered almost 70,000 views in less than a year on YouTube channel Wave Of Good Noise. The addition of Eoghan O’Shea (guitar, keys), Gavin Foye (bass) and Kieran Kehoe (saxophone) saw the group burst onto the live music scene in February 2017, their first gig at the Stables Club in the University of Limerick. This was followed up with opening for Ross from Friends of Brainfeeder Records in Limerick’s Social and Co venue. Kodu have performed Live and DJ sets at the Village Hall of the Global Green area at Electric Picnic in 2017 and 2018 along with Townlands Carnival 2018 and Valley of Art 2017. The group have also performed in venues Habitat, The Stormy Teacup, Pharmacia, The Friary and Dolans.
