Kuara’s new single, Falling featuring Jamel Franklin, will be released on April 4th!
Kuara is a singer-songwriter and composer from São Paulo, Brazil, blending her Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous roots with elements of R&B, soul, pop, dance, and rap. Her name, meaning "Sun" in Tupi-Guarani, honors her great-grandmother and reflects the warmth, energy, and passion that shine through in her music.
Kuara’s musical journey began with the piano, influenced by her father’s violin playing and her love for the smooth rhythms of Bossa Nova. She later expanded to playing the organ and singing in church. Her departure from the church, due to her refusal to conform to its doctrines, helped shape her bold and independent spirit.
Now based in Dublin, Kuara has performed at iconic venues like The Workman’s Club, The Grand Social, The International Bar, and more. She has also been featured on Dublin South FM's Sunday Night Show with Keith McLoughlin. Her music blends soulful R&B with Brazilian percussion, pop, dance, and rap influences, creating a sound that connects deeply with her audience. Her lyrics explore themes of love, self-worth, toxic relationships, and social justice, with a particular focus on women’s rights and freedom of expression.
Kuara’s debut single, Brand New Day, inspired by her journey of breaking free from relationships or situations that no longer serve you, introduced her emotionally expressive voice and depth. Her voice blends a rich, soulful warmth with a bright, vulnerable quality, conveying both strength and tenderness. Now, with the upcoming release of Falling on April 4th, Kuara takes a more romantic turn, capturing the complexities of love and vulnerability in her soulful, heartfelt sound.
