'One of Irelands most exciting up and coming artists' - Moya Brennan
Hailing from Gaoth Dobhair, Donegal, LARAbEL is influenced by the rugged landscapes and roots to the Irish language that has surrounded her growing up. During her time at college in BIMM, LARAbEL busked on the streets of Dublin and played venues all across Ireland,
Since then she has gone on to perform at some of the biggest festivals in Ireland and the UK ,including Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Glastonbury. She has supported artists like David Keenan, Roisin O and Glasshouse, has sold out headline shows and played gigs such as the Ruby Sessions, Whelan’s Ones to Watch and The Olympia Theatre.
“Donegal singer-songwriter LARAbEL released her debut EP Squiggle in 2025, and has already been pinned as one of Ireland’s most exciting up-and-comers. Specialising in ethereal soundscapes rooted in naturalistic ambience and Irish tradition, the musician has also proven an unmissable live act, with slots at Electric Picnic and Glastonbury, and headline shows in Whelan’s” - Hot for 2026 (Hotpress Magazine)
Having signed an EP deal with independent Irish record label 'Beo Records' at the beginning of 2025. LLARAbEL released her debut project 'Squiggle', a five track EP with a unique ethereal, Irish-indie pop sound. The EP is intertwined with darkness, playfulness and tackles tough personal topics in a lighthearted way.
Now that LARAbEL has released her first EP that has that playful coming of age feel to it. Her next few singles show that she has graduated from that section of her life now stepping into her adulthood and realising what she wants to focus her songwriting on, still not shying away from tough topics but now looking outward rather than inward, Such as the weight of the things going on in the world that now impact her songwriting bringing it to a place where she takes things a little more serious.
LARAbEL has received support from the likes of Genuine Irish, Hotpress,The Goo, District Magazine, Aiken Promotions and gained loads of airplay on national radio with the likes of, RTE 2FM,Dublin City FM, Today FM and more. LARAbEL was chosen to make her first appearance on national TV on TG4 for a TV show called ‘Cassadh sa ceol’ a challenging show that reveals her unique approach to making a song her own.
