Fermanagh folk duo Laytha, cousins Niamh and Philana, are becoming best known for their carefully crafted vocal harmonies, their greatest and most unique asset. Following the release of their debut self-titled album in Nov ’22, the duo were propelled into 2023 with a headline an Irish tour as well as opening shows for Martha Wainwright in Galway and The Coronas in Belfast. 2023 also saw collaborations with fellow Irish artists Ciaran Lavery and Joshua Burnside which lead to the release of their first single in 2024, 'throat of the wind,’ picking up support on RTE Radio One and BBC Radio Ulster.
After having performed at Folk Alliance as official showcase artists in Kansas City last year, the duo went straight back into the studio to work on their latest EP 'Daphne' which leans into their ethereal and dream-like folk musical influences such as Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine and Adrianne Lenker. The duo's harmonies 'have never been stronger than on their newest EP' - Chordblossom. Tracks from Daphne were featured on BBC Radio 6's Dream Time show, The Louise Duffy Show on RTE Radio 1, Celtic Music Radio with Ian Oliphant's Folk Show and BBC Radio Ulster with Eve Blair.
