Lord Ormond

Avant-pop // Dublin

Fleeter even than mercury; the place that lies beyond regret; an opening act of shame and optimism, loneliness and the sunshine that persists behind closed eyes. Lord Ormond is the avant-garde pop music stage persona of Dublin's Paddy Ormond; Emerging from previous outings in The Claque/Jet Setter, current projects including Famille Rose and Postcard Versions, alongside a list of collaborations including with Morgana, Kean Kavanagh, Paddy Hanna, and Banríon.

A decrepit upper class bohemian aristocrat, watching the world around him crumble - Lord Ormond's flailing attempts to supersede fragility with pride create a live show of high theatre and shrill dramatic performance. Sonically the music is muscular guitars, jagged angular synths, and blown out frenetic maximalist rhythms, alongside more moody hefty numbers. Inspiration: Bjork, Jai Paul, SOPHIE and Kate Bush. The visceral physical confrontational live show echoes Sam Herring and Nick Cave.

Debuting in support of Morgana in Whelan's late 2023, Lord Ormond released first single 'Radiator' in February 24, before selling out Crowbar Terrace in his first solo show in May, with a first festival slot at Another Love Story in September. Additionally playing Young Heart's Run Free's Yule, and performing a support slot at a sold out Whelan's for Really Good Time in November made it a busy and exciting year honing the sound and live performance. The solo show proves both highly dramatic and intense, while also humorous, raw, and vulnerable. 2025 sees Lord Ormond release more singles, play abroad, alongside home turf solo headlines and festival slots.
