Lost in Flight are a four piece rock/alternative band from Dublin. The band consists of Dan Fox (lead vocals, guitar), Ivan Campbell (piano, synths, backing vocals), Mark Lavery (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Billy Campbell (drums, backing vocals).
Lost in Flight formed in September 2010, having previously been known as VIC. VIC established themselves on the Dublin music scene in 2007. They experienced increasing success from this time including notable support slots with Tinchy Stryder, Simian Mobile Disco, Mr. Hudson, The Coronas and a number of sold out headline shows. On the back of this, they made several appearances on radio stations 2fm, Spin 1038 and FM104.
A number of line up changes and a new direction in song writing prompted the band to re-launch as “Lost in Flight”. The aim of the re-launch was to establish a new identity for the group – one that reflects their musical progression and their growing maturity as a band. Recently, they have been working on their debut album in Noel Hogan’s (Cranberries) personal studio with producer/engineer Owen Lewis. This will be released in Jan 2011.
Funding for a 3 week television advertising campaign has been agreed following Lost In Flight’s debut release on the 12th of November 2010. This will be featured at prime slots on MTV, MTV+1, E4, E4+1 and TV3 all across Ireland and will offer the free download of “Last Breath”, the first single off the album. The band are currently in the process of shooting a music video for “Last Breath” which will make up the footage shown in the television ad and will also be available on the band’s website.
The group plan to tour Japan in 2011 having established a large Japanese fanbase through myspace.
