Makeshift Art Bar are the embodiment of the Belfast noise scene with their sound bounding into the Irish live music circuit in 2023. Each of the bands four members bring their own stylistic influences, ranging from the raw noise of Irish legends Gilla Band to the jazz style drums of Elvin Jones combining together to create the post-punk sonic frequencies of Makeshift Art Bar.
Since their debut in February 2023, Makeshift Art Bar have torn across the historic venues of Belfast playing sold out shows in Ulster Sports Club, Limelight and The Ulster Hall. The echoes of their live performance have spread across the island with their Dublin debut in early 2024 to a sold out Workman's Cellar. Their trailblazing live show is ready to spread across Ireland and the rest of the world.
Their debut single 'Inertia' hit the ears of their fans in October 2023 gaining a write up in So Young magazine. describing the track as "unlawfully wedding the gothic slow burn of 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' with the noisome disruption of Belfast contemporaries Enola Gay.. The howls ring louder, until the whole thing explodes into a cathartic hell-f**k of passionate fuzzed-out phantasmagoria"
Keep your eyes and ears on these noisy up and comers, they are not a band to be missed!
