An Adventurous Evening of Experimental Composite Music


The duo "Manon & Bar" presents an evening of musical adventure: derived from the desire to challenge both musicians and audience, Manon Pellicorio and Bar Geva take their listeners on an evening of mixed, even polarised musical inspirations. Drawing on such diverse influences as Jazz, Pop, Modern Classical music, World music and free improvisations, these two thoughtful, deeply committed musicians wilfully explore new avenues in music through both original compositions and imaginative covers, creating a unique sound and approach every single show.

Though it is their mutual firm grounding in academic music studies that provides Swiss-born Manon Pellicorio and Israeli Bar Geva with a common musical language, it is the emotional content of the music that draws them together. Their explorations in odd meters, surprising vocalisations, unexpected riffs and daring chording never feel contrived – they are an expression of emotions that are stirred every night anew: a longing for music as yet unheard, a commitment to crossing boundaries.

Singer and composer Manon Pellicorio has been pursuing music through both study and play over most of Europe. Having studied in Switzerland, Germany and Ireland, she continued her musical journey in Israel for long enough to earn her MA degree in music, followed by the release of her first album "Kaleidoscope". Bar Geva pursued his studies in Israel and Ireland, while playing everything from Jazz and Classical music to Turkish traditional music. With his “Bar Geva Trio” he makes an active contribution to the Israeli Jazz scene.
