Mary writes, produces and records her own songs and music, also under the name Mary & the Pigeons and her own label, Sharkwoman records.
Her music is dark folk with melodic driven string lines and lyrical storytelling.
Her first solo album, Into Air, received a four star review from the Irish Times
from Lauren Murphy in The Ticket, Irish Times 14.04.16
Her second album, LIke Water, was released on March 1st 2024
She has written music for short films, theatre, dance productions, many educational projects and has collaborated with artists such as Chequerboard, Lioba Petrie, Julie Feeney, Adrian Crowley, Seti The First, Vanishing Lakes, Amanda Coogan and Justine Doswell. She is also currently performing with Teac Damsa’s production of Swan Lake/Loch na hEala on tour which she has toured to South Korea, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and the Australia. www.teacdamsa.com.
She has written a music show for children, Feb 2019 with her Sister, Kathrine called Stringplay commissioned by the Ark and IMC.
Mary also is director for the Sundays@Noon concert Series in the Hugh Lane Gallery, co-director of the annual Spike cello festival (spikecellofest.com) and teaches in Dublin..
