mischa and the bear are a Dublin-based alt-pop duo blending dark electronic pop, industrial textures and distorted synths with stark, distinctive vocals. Driven and mechanical, their music combines ethereal textures with high-impact energy.
Producer Mischa and vocalist Bear are carving out a world of their own from their shared bedroom studio, blending witch-house, dance-pop and cinematic soundscapes into something otherworldly and unpredictable.
The duo debuted in 2025 with their single Deny, praised by RTÉ 2FM as a “whopper” and described by Nialler9 as “very fucking great.”
Their debut EP, Even Unto The Next World, followed in August 2025, establishing their distinctive blend of dark electronics, haunting melodies and unfiltered emotion. Analogue Trash called Sing It "a particular joy... designed to get you heading to the dance floor", praising it as "perfectly crafted pop". Abair, a stand-alone single, is an Irish language version of the song, further expanding the band’s reach.
In 2026, they were named an RTÉ 2FM Rising Artist, while the music video for Forever Ago was a Silver Selection at the Berlin Music Video Awards.
Their second EP, True Colours, released in August 2026, pushes further into the duo’s darker, more expansive sound, with an "intoxicating charisma" as described by The Sheer, that is "infectious, quality, and unique" according to Nialler9.
Tracks from their debut EP landed on Spotify editorial playlists alt_ie and A Breath of Fresh Éire, while tracks from their second EP, True Colours, featured on Today’s Ireland, Evolver, Fresh Finds Pop and New Music Friday UK.
Following festival appearances at Forbidden Fruit, Beyond the Pale, and Electric Picnic, alongside support slots for Kiesza and Cabaret Voltaire, the duo’s 2026 live highlights include Other Voices, Culture Night with RTÉ, and Ireland Music Week.
They head out on a four-date Irish tour supporting Adult DVD in November before taking their sound to Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, the Netherlands, in January 2027.
