MYP ET JEEP

Rock // Thomastown, Kilkenny

Always described as 'catchy' and 'melodic', Myp Et Jeep released their debut album 'Blood Is Not Enough' in March 2009 to much critical acclaim. This included a '4 out 5' review from Hot Press (Ireland's top music magazine) and being made 'Album Of The Week' on Larry Gogan's legendary 2FM show, along with airplay from all the other major and regional Irish radio stations and dj's. Managing to support the likes of: Snow Patrol, Republic of Loose, Frank & Walters to name but a few, they started out in 2005 winning the Kilkenny Battle of the Bands and after a string of dates in the UK, the band were quickly becoming a favourite at Dublin’s Garage gigs. They were then asked to play the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, Ireland’s major music showcase and featured on the festival's compilation cd, with 'Enough Is Enough' being one of the most downloaded tracks from the competition and in 2008 they recorded a live session for 2fm. 'Blood Is Not Enough' was recorded with U2 and Elvis Costello collaborator Leo Pearson producing and Richard Rainey (U2, Mansun, Ash) taking care of mixing. Their debut single was released in September '08 on Reekus Records. A second single 'Little Secrets' followed and the album 'Blood Is Not Enough' is in shops as we speak. In April they played the IMRO Showcase Tour 2009 along with the best of current Irish bands chosen from over nine hundred submissions. Myp Et Jeep play Indie-Pendence in Cork this weekend and are second last on the bill at TraFest in Tramore, County Waterford on 15th August. A third single 'Excuses' is due for release in the coming weeks.
