My Woolly Hat is the creative brainchild of Marcus MacDonald, an accomplished singer songwriter who has collaborated in the past with David Hopkins (Lir) and Zamo Riffman (Sing Street).
Of late his collaboration with singers Kealan O’Reilly (ex-Dublin Gospel Choir) and Emma McGrane (of Legato and Soul Glow Gospel Choir fame) have resulted in a delicate folk rock sound with a strong emphasis on harmony, melody and social justice.
In his time with the Dublin Gospel Choir Kealan has sung, performed and recorded with James Brown, Damien Rice, Paddy Casey, Rod Stewart and Neil Hannon amongst others.
Emma McGrane, a former scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music, was also a member of the Grosvenor Light Opera Company in London.
Marcus is also a prolific visual artist as well as a multi-instrumentalist, blogger and poet.
