The Nassau Experience …
Driving and pulsating, music to cut through your day. Attica State – NASSAU’s debut album –finds the revitalized band, sounding hungry, lean and full of passion.
Their consistent gravely rock and roll sound continues to stimulate fledgling listeners and excite their longstanding fans. Having built up a steady stream of fans, Nassau seem to determined to continually experiment with their style while holding strong on their delivery. The majestic pounding sound is abundantly present, enticing all who hear it to throw a fist in the air or stomp a foot, and to allow yourself be taken away by a sea of embracing energy.
Since their release of their single She Drives last October, Nassau have been busy on the live circuit playing sell out shows all over the country. After spending over 7 weeks in the top ten download charts over the Christmas period Nassau are continuing to bring their music far and wide. Recently Nassau played on an international platform as part of the Bodog International Band Battle and were praised for being a “very commercial sounding indie band … that had the crowd jumping.”Described by Hotpress’s Jackie Hayden as a band that “play with a spunky flair and confidence...they could be well worth paying attention to in the future... the future has arrived, I've been watching out for them and, thankfully, their new offering doesn't let me down.”
Nassau are out to impress with their no-gimmick, clean quality sound. When lead singer George Madden was asked what their angle is as a band he quickly clarifies that their simple angle is their music. “No gimmicks, no angles, just quality music.” When listening to the album’s opening tune, Funderland Fan, we can immediately hear what he’s talking about, their sound is crisp and without prejudice to anyone’s ears. There is an all encompassing pop sensibility intertwined with a gravelly undergrowth of guitar sound that draws you in as a listener and leaves everyone who experiences their music craving more of that alternative rock goodness.
Nassau’s Attica State is available on all good online music stores including i-tunes and Napster together with Plugged Records on Washington Street, Cork. Funderland Fan can be downloaded by texting 'music 1817' to 57501 or logging onto www.downloadmusic.ie
