Oscar Wilkins, a Dublin-based singer-songwriter, discovered his passion for music in his hometown of
Ballycullen. Raised in a family with a strong musical influence, Oscar's journey into the world of music began at
the age of 16. It was during this time that the music of Oasis captivated his heart and led him to pick up a
guitar, driven by a desire to master their iconic songs.
In his early school years, Oscar's enthusiasm for music led him to form his own band, where he explored and
honed his musical talents. Eager to make his mark in the music world, he began sharing cover songs, a move
that was partly motivated by the desire to impress the opposite sex. Oscar's dedication to his craft took him to
Ballyfermot, The Rock School, where he furthered his musical education and embarked on a journey to
advance his music career. The diverse musical environment of the school opened doors to new possibilities
and experiences.
A significant source of inspiration for Oscar is The Weeknd, drawing from the artist's distinctive vocals,
including his captivating falsetto, as well as his production techniques featuring 808 beats, synthesizers, and
basslines. Oscar admires The Weeknd's openness about his own imperfections and his unapologetic
expression of self, which resonates deeply with his own artistic vision.
