Paper Clap

Hip Hop // Gormanston, Meath

Combine the spoken word and trumpet playing of Gormanston's Morgan Sloggett (A.K.A M-Dog Slog) with the heavy hip-hop beats of producer John Gough and you'll find yourself in the soundscape that is Paper Clap.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, Mac Miller and Jeff Buckley, it's no surprise to hear an alternative hip-hop sound coming from the County Meath duo. Following three singles in 2020, Paper Clap have just released the title track to their upcoming debut album 'Walk It Off' - an open welcome into the melancholic mental history of Mr. Sloggett as he, time after time, fights off a depressive state through musical therapy and movement.

Their debut album, which is scheduled for release this summer, is set to turn a few heads as the pair mix a variety of sounds and samples with live trumpet and multiple, conscious topics in the realms of mental health and modern Irish society.
