passersby

'passersby' is a dream pop project by multi-instrumentalist and producer Diarmuid O'Connor. In November 2021, passersby released 'ALWAYS', a seven-track cassette displaying the sonic adventurism and poigniant lyricism of a refreshing new voice on the Irish scene.

The release was met with Spotify editorial support, airplay on NTS and WNXP Nashville, and much praise from Irish indie publications. Totally Dublin writes, "the seven tracks here are beautifully impressionistic sketches; the lyrics are intimate but the music is adventurous, melding traditional indie sounds with some more progressive and electronic stylistic flourishes".

As a live act, passersby takes the ethereal introspection of the recordings and adapts it into something more visceral and immediate. Featuring washed-out guitars, cathartic violin stabs, and moody synths, the five-piece has establised itself as a strong presence on stages across Dublin.
