Paulie began playing guitar at the age of 14 and quickly joined the local gigging scene. The first big push was made along side Gerard Kiernan and Fionn O’Donohoe in the form of an original band, Ricotta Rojo. During this time Paulie started writing and playing his own original compositions, also as a solo artist, headlining gigs and supporting top Irish artists between the two. In 2018/19, Paulie had 3 spectacular sold out shows in the form of “Paulie Martin & Friends” at local Mullingar venues, Canton Casey’s and The Stables at Smiddys bar.

The eagerly anticipated EP, entitled “Ricotta Rojo”, as a tribute to Paulie’s old original act of the same name, was released in May 2020. The EP features three tracks of mixed genres, fusing blues, funk and rock together, weaving old stories with hidden truths within his lyrics.

Since 2020, Paulie spent his spare time, in covid lockdown, writing and producing his songs. Rhythm of the Moon was released on all platforms in April 2021. In December 2021, Paulie joined forces with the Mullingar Music Collective & Marty Mulligan, under the LLPP scheme from the Westmeath County Council, to record his single, “Cherokee Rose”, in the mighty Grouse Lodge Studios. Released in June 2022.

Paulie also started the recording process of an album in December 2021 with his band in Rainwater Studios, Kilbeggan. He is finally ready to release the magnificent 7 as singles over the course of 2024. First release, Talk is Cheap (Pink Flamingo) Jan 2024.
