Paulie Martin is a well-established local musician based in Mullingar. A familiar face to most
and a recognizable voice and guitar player to the rest. His influences range across multiple
genres but his roots are in Blues, Funk and Rock. Drawing inspiration from artists such as
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gary Clark Jr, Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher and more.
Paulie began playing guitar at a young age before joining the local gig scene. The first big
push was made along side Gerard Kiernan and Fionn O’Donohoe in the form of original band
Ricotta Rojo. During this time Paulie started writing and playing as a solo artist, headlining
and supporting multiple gigs between the two. Highlights included Whelans One’s To Watch, Midnight Sessions, and the pinnacle, Electric Picnic.
In 2018/19, Paulie also had 3 spectacular sold out gigs in the form of “Paulie Martin & Friends” at local Mullingar venues, Canton Casey’s and The Stables at Smiddys bar.
The eagerly anticipated EP will be titled “Ricotta Rojo” as a tribute to Paulie’s old original act
of the same name. The EP features 3 tracks of mixed genres, fusing blues, funk and rock
together while bringing heartfelt grooves, storytelling and a smidge of rocking out to
everyone’s ears. The EP became available on May the 4th on all digital platforms such as
Spotify, Google Music, iTunes and Apple Music.
Recently, on April 27th 2021, Paulie released his latest single Rhythm of the Moon on all platforms and will enjoy his first sold out gig since the pandemic began on October 2nd 2021. On June 16th 2022, the next release of Cherokee Rose took place as a sequel of sorts to age old original track, indian chief. This was followed by entry into Rainwater recording studios where he has worked tirelessly on new material. The next of which released on the 23rd of November 2023, Talk is Cheap. The first of many to come from the most recent recording sessions with the next single scheduled for release in 2025.
