Pier

Alternative // Dublin, Dublin // He/Him

An emotional ebb and flow, moving from intimacy to abrasion, from a near whisper to a full lung outburst.
Melancholy, nostalgia, love, loss, anger, everything in between. Pier’s songs live in contrast, always circling vulnerability, always pulled forward by a voice that knows when to hold back and when to break through.

Pier returns in 2026 with Burgundy, the first single from a new studio chapter, The Daisy EP. Following his debut The Harvest EP, and shape shifting collaborations with DJ and producer Arveene, Pier brought these songs to life on stage with his band before turning inward again, focusing on a concise body of four tracks with producer Ber Quinn (John Grant, Lisa Hannigan, The Divine Comedy etc.)

Nurtured by the gentle rhythms of the Mediterranean, Pier, born Pierfrancesco Dessì, grew up in Sarroch, a small industrial town on Sardinia’s southern coast. His path into music unfolded quietly, passing through architecture studies and a brief stretch in a metal mechanics factory in Finland, before finding its true home in Dublin’s vibrant music scene.

The influence of 90s alternative rock and britpop is unmistakable. Echoes of Jeff Buckley and Radiohead surface throughout his work, yet at its core Pier’s music remains rooted in the singer songwriter tradition, reimagined through expansive alternative productions. Subtle traces of his Sardinian roots appear along the way, never overt, but always present.

Pier will be touring throughout Ireland and the UK this spring.
