Róg Poets

Róg Poets are a Dublin based hip-hop group who operate under their own independent label 'Róg Records'. The group consists of rappers/producers Mory, Smokey, Bazigos and Johnny Welfare, all of whom also either do now or are planning to release music as solo performers.

Founded in 2018 the group have garnered a modest following on social media and played several sold out headline shows, as well as playing at Hotbox festival in Leitrim and booked for Fuinneamh 2021. The live aspect of their work is undeniably charismatic with an emphasis on high energy crowd interaction and hard hitting delivery.

To date the Poets have released an EP 'Róg Tapes vol 1' and three singles 'Shiftin', 'Checkmate', and 'Escape'. Their upcoming album is yet to be announced but is finished and set for release in late summer. Their music to date has almost 20,000 streams on Youtube (19,900+) and over 25,000 streams on spotify.

With passion and determination the Róg Poets are aiming to position themselves firmly in the world of Irish hip hop and have no intention of slowing down any time soon. With their record label picking up steam and other artists forming around them, the poets are in an exciting stage of their career, with something to prove and everything to gain.
