Sandy Mary arrived on the scene in late 2019. The origin of the band can be traced to the stony grey soil of County Monaghan, Ireland, but the band has been based in Dublin since its inception. Very well received local shows were followed by two singles released in early 2020. “Different Seasons” earned radio play on Classic hits FM radio and garnered rave reviews from listeners, with the bridge being the standout moment in the song, providing a singalong melody with lyrics that everyone can relate to.
The band’s newest single “Love That You Do” is set for release on the 21st May which sees the band exploring their own sound, more so than on previous releases. The future is bright and their unique approach to infectious pop songwriting is more apparent than ever. The band’s sound while early on being influenced by The Beatles and Cream can now be described as a cross between Sam Fender, Hozier, a sprinkling of The Cure and topped with the Arctic Monkeys. Sandy Mary combines a subtle musical soundscape with introspective lyrics that leave the listener with a fresh experience upon each re-listen.
