San Rocco first arrived on the Irish music scene with a live performance video of 'Final Girls' in 2019. The rest of 2019 saw the band record their first two singles while playing gigs in Dublin, including a headline slot at Displace Studios’ showcase This Must Be The Place, to 70 people. In 2020 the band launched their debut single 'The End Is Never The End', which appeared on Goldenplec’s ‘Tracks of the Week’ and received radio play from Dan Hegarty on RTE 2fm. The band’s second single ‘Run Doom’, was released in April. The single launch for ‘Run Doom’ in Whelan’s was cancelled due to the pandemic, which forced the band into a hiatus for the remainder of 2020 and 2021.
2022 saw the reincarnation of San Rocco with the release of 'Bread & Butter'. Described as a “slick and swaggering display” by Indie Buddie, the single was launched to a sold-out headline show at The Workman’s Club, marking a new era for the band. That summer saw the release of 'Across The Night's Ceiling' with the band’s first music video, shot by the former guitarist of Edsel Auctioneer and Pale Saints, Ashley Horner. Amassing over 1650 views on YouTube to date, the video was a success for the band and helped put San Rocco firmly on the map in the Irish music scene. The single received radio play from Dan Hegarty on 2fm among other stations and featured on the IMRO Ireland Spotify playlist. Following the release of the single the band played a slew of gigs across Dublin, including venues The Grand Social, Fibbers, The Well, The Sound House and a sold out Whelan’s Midnight Hour.
These gigs have helped the band develop the songs that will appear on their debut EP, due for release in Autumn 2023.
