Seánie Bermingham

Folk // Knocklyon, Dublin // he/him

Seánie is an Irish singer-songwriter from Co.Tipperary, based in Dublin. He grew up on a farm in the valley of Slievenamon where folk music has always been on his doorstep. His family renovated an old cow shed into an intimate concert venue where many renowned Irish and international folk artists have passed through. This immersion in folk and traditional music from an early age has shaped and moulded his songwriting style. His debut EP "That Hollow Moon" dropped on the 9th of December. On his EP: "Written and self-recorded/produced in a renovated cowshed in the Tipperary countryside, this EP came to life after a difficult few months. Growing anxiety and fear had crept into my every being and put my life on the back foot. All that I was feeling went into my music. I spent the winter months recording with the fire keeping me warm, coming up for air a few times a day. All of the songs were written and recorded during this time. I had begun by recording old songs but they didn't feel as relevant to me at the time, so I turned my energy into writing new ones. Through talking, friendship, acceptance, songwriting and family, the weight of those feelings started to lift and an EP began to emerge."
