SENU is the electronic music project of Dublin-based producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Killeen. Known for blending ambient textures, intricate live instrumentation, and experimental production, SENU creates immersive soundscapes that push the boundaries of electronic music while maintaining a raw, human feel. Inspired by artists like Flying Lotus, Floating Points, and Bonobo, the project explores the intersection of electronic and live music, incorporating elements of jazz, alternative, and beat-driven experimentation.
Before launching SENU, Sam Killeen built a career as a sought-after session guitarist and musical director, working with Kodaline, James Vincent McMorrow, Westlife, Lisa Hannigan, Villagers, Gavin James, Wallis Bird, Xzibit. His experience as musical director for Pillow Queens and an arranger for The Scratch, including orchestrating and conducting strings for their debut album livestream, has shaped his deep understanding of arrangement, production, and collaboration—skills that now define SENU’s unique approach to electronic music.
In 2021, SENU released the debut album Jetlag, which received a 10/10 review from The Last Mixed Tape and was widely praised for its innovative fusion of live and electronic elements. Nialler9 championed the album, hosting a full-band live performance of the record on his YouTube channel, bringing it to a wider audience during lockdown. SENU’s previous releases have been featured across Irish media, with singles being named Track of the Week by Nialler9.
SENU’s live performances are dynamic and immersive, combining electronic production with live improvisation to create a truly unique experience. With a new album currently in production SENU continues to evolve, crafting bold and emotionally rich sonic landscapes.
After years of shaping other artists' sounds as a guitarist, arranger, and musical director, SENU represents Sam Killeen’s most personal and ambitious artistic vision—a project that fuses his technical expertise with his passion for pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
