"Taking influence from acts such as Radiohead, Wolf Alice and the 90’s early grunge movement, they entwine this with their signature dream folk sound, with a hint of Irish trad. As always, it’s hard to place Siúcra’s sound into one box." - IMRO
Siúcra, a sextet hailing from Galway, Ireland, whose musical style includes spoons of blues rock, folk, trad, all the way to shimmering shoegaze.
The band consists of Ophelia Mortimer (vocals), Ben McGowan (vocals, guitar), Diarmuid Byrne (guitar), Rory Murphy (fiddle), Eoin O’ Shaughnessy (bass) and Tiernan Bines (Drums).
Taking influence from their own individual tastes and the burgeoning revival of the Irish Traditional Folk scene, together for almost 3 years, Siucra have been fine tuning their own unique sound playing relentlessly up and down the Wild Atlantic Way.
Their first recorded number ‘Travellin’ Song’ was released in early 2023, culminating around the release of their first imminent EP.
We are sort of 'emerging' with something different and we're sound.
