Sweet Little Lies are an acoustic piece fronted by Roisin Atcheson who has been described as “a young singer whose tender yet transcending vocals make her a musical force to be reckoned with.” Having collaborated with them on several projects in the past, Atcheson formed the band in 2011 with percussionist Kevin Lowery and guitarist Allan Cooke who both have extensive experience in performance, writing and music production. The band cites a wide range of influences including Eva Cassidy, The Cranberries, Tracy Chapman, KT Tunstall and Fleetwood Mac. Their music is described as chilled out, funky acoustic, alternative, with a touch of reggae and Atcheson’s sensitive and soulful voice always remains the star of the show.
Having toured extensively with international dates in the U.S. and Europe as well as numerous Irish festivals, Roisin was a finalist in the Glinsk song contest 2011 and has recently collaborated with award winning song writer Graham Miley.
The band’s recently released five track self-titled e.p. has received extensive radio play, with one of the tracks being used in the soundtrack for an Australian film currently in production. According to Claire Brennan of the BBC, “Sweet Little Lies e.p. is a must have accessory for iPods and CD players everywhere.” They are currently in the studio working on material for a forthcoming debut album
