Hailing from Dublin, Ten Hail Marys are a guitar-driven, indie-rock four-piece with a penchant for colloquial, narrative lyrics and sprawling, emotive hooks. Initially collaborating on tracks left over from his previous project, Adam Cullen (Vocals/Guitar) employed Jake Murray (Drums), Joe McGuirk (Synth/Guitar) and Dillon Doyle (Bass) in early 2022, and the group took full shape in November of the same year with the release of debut single ‘Yours Truly, Little Pixie’.
Since then, the band has gone from strength to strength with each release and a growing fanbase. February 2023 saw them make their debut live appearance to a sold out headline show in the Workmans Cellar before spending the rest of the year touring and playing shows across Ireland and the UK with notable appearances at festivals such as Forbidden Fruit and Ireland Music Week.
2024 marked the recording of their debut EP while touring and supporting bands such as BASHT and Cliffords and having one of the stand out sets of Whelans Ones to Watch. The year also saw an unexpected collaboration with Choice Prize nominated rapper Curtisy on their song 'Bruises, Cuts'. This helped introduce a new fanbase to Ten Hail Marys music before the release of their Debut EP 'Faults I May Have' which released on the 3rd of January 2025. The release was well received and met with and abundance of press from various Irish and international publications including songs being placed in notable editorial playlists such as 'New Music Friday UK' and 'A Breath of Fresh Eire'. 2025 is set to be the bands biggest year yet with their debut headline tour booked for February/March, wrapping the tour up with a headline show in the famous Whelans main room.
Fittingly, Whipping Boy guitarist Paul Page has been among the early champions of Ten Hail Marys. It is not uncommon for a band to occupy a sonic space that reflects their surroundings, but this sound moves well beyond imitation. Such is the eclecticism of the group’s influences – from The Cribs and Deftones to Depeche Mode – theirs is a style of writing that is at once hugely challenging and enchantingly familiar.
