'thanks mom' is a DIY indie/alternative rock outfit, formed by front woman Erica Lee in 2022, recruiting Grace that same year, followed by Amelie and Cillian in 2023. Based in Kildare, Ireland, their songs explore the profound themes of love, friendship, sadness, self-hatred and navigating life as a neurodivergent teenager. Already listed as one of the Hottest Irish Artists to watch in 2024 by Hot Press and the Irish Times exclaimed "New name to keep an ear out for."
'thanks mom' been working hard on honing their song writing craft through our previous releases like “if you want me”. Boasting an impressive 48k streams on Spotify and earning a place in “The 100 Best Irish Songs of 23!” as celebrated by Kieran on Radio Nova 100.

Press have said:
I was lucky to catch this very young Kildare four piece at Forest Fest in Emo, Co Laois a few weeks ago as their energy, exuberance and beyond-their-years song writing captivated a packed tent. The sound is guitar based indie pop a la Breeders and Elastica and in Erica Lee the band possess a frontwoman with a cool, laconic attitude that would give Justine Frischmann a run for her money any day.
The song is Classic punk pop, light and Catchy: an act to keep an eye on”
PF, The Goo Magazine
“thanks mom - Teenage Sacrifice - They've done it again!
A band that makes you want to be in a band, so that someday you can do something nearly as cool as they do. thanks mom just keeps banging out monsters, I cannot wait to hear the full album, and going by their recent live performances, we can expect to see thanks mom in the 3 Arena in the not too distant future. Jump on this train now.”
Dermot Lambert - CEO Garageland/Blink, RTE 2XM
The latest hyper catchy power punk mini nuke from “thanks mom” soon to be yours to stream on repeat until your ears bleed! This song should come with an insurance plan for head banging induced neck injuries! Teenage Sacrifice is worth sacrificing your vertebrae for!
Rohan Healy - Beardfire Music, Dublin
“"why don't u like me anymore?" is leading the charge of pure genius lyrics wrapped in the most mind bendingly wonderful anthemic soundscapes. thanks mom are by far and away ahead of most new artists coming through right now, Thank God for thanks mom!”
DERMOT LAMBERT - CEO Garageland/Blink,
RTE 2XM
“Searing grunge guitars and a “tight as a ducks arse” rhythm section provide the foundation for the infectious nonchalant vocals spouting relatable truisms, bringing 90s garage nostalgia to 2024. Catchy, frantic and fun, totally addictive!”
ROHAN HEALY, Beardfire Music
“Kildare four-piece, thanks mom, have found their voice in latest track ‘Teenage Sacrifice’. Echoing pop punk bands of the ‘00s, ‘Teenage Sacrifice’ is a playful track, fuelled by teenage angst that could have been pulled straight from the 10 Things I Hate About You soundtrack. For fans of Car Seat Headrest and Los Campesinos!, thanks mom, are sure to fulfill your need for some indie rock closer to home.
The band launched their single in an exclusive release party in The Sound House earlier in the week and are set to share a new project in 2025”
