The Ancient Pirate & JacKnife (Calum Drought & John O'Brien ) are two 18 year old singer/song writing rap/hip hop artists hailing from Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. They both started rapping in late 2012 and originally started as two seperate rappers. They ended up featuring on a lot of each others work so they decided to perform together as a duo. DOB Music Irl is the producer of the Beats and often features with them when they perform .
The E.P, Forget My Past & Forget My Sins was recorded shortly after and released for free download on Bandcamp in March 2014. 6 months later, they began working on their second E.P, Everything Else is Secondary, which saw them gather a lot more fans/listeners and more downloads of their music than before. The E.P was featured on the Deadly Music blog and the lead song on the E.P, Nah Nah, recieved radio play on 2FM. They performed at Hype youth Music festival in Co. Longford in May 2015 to almost 4,000 people, their biggest performance and achievement to date. They have also taken part in West Limerick's Got talent and progressed to the final, featured at the Mountshannon Arts Festival, Scarriff Foróige Open Mic and are booked to play at The Hip Hop Party in Scarriff , Scarriff Harbour Festival and Feile Brian Boru.
Thier third E.P. was released in May 2015 to coincide with Hype and is called The Third Take, the first song from the E.P "Do It For The Music" was released by SPIN South West Radio.
