The Hopeful Kind

The Hopeful Kind are an indie pop duo based in Donegal, Ireland. Formed in the summer of 2023, the duo is made up of vocalist/songwriters Cara Ward and Ruth Teeling.

The duo released their debut single, ‘Wherever You Go,’ in February of 2024, with early support for the song coming from Donegal's Highland Radio, LMFM, and RTÉ 2FM’s Beta Da Silva (The New Music Show). They released a further two singles last year, which also received national radio play, with their latest, "Close To You," securing them a place as local finalists in Hot Press’ A New Local Hero Competition.

Off the back of last years performances in venues such as The Academy, Whelan’s, and Monroe’s Live, the duo will be making their official festival debut at Croílár Festival 2025 in April, with more gigs lined up for the summer months. The band will also be releasing new music in the summer of 2025.
