The Violet Breaks

Alternative // Dublin, Dublin

“No Label, No Limits… Triple Volt solidifies The Violet Breaks standing as one of Ireland’s most electrifying indie rock acts” - Vee Dee, famemagazine.co.uk

The Violet Breaks are an indie and alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Drawing influences from the likes of The Strokes, Bloc Party & Nothing But Thieves, their music is a distinctive mix of infectious, guitar-driven melodies that blend catchy hooks with an eclectic edge.

They released their debut album “Triple Volt” in February 2025.

Composed of Eoghan O’Neill, Shay Ferris, Jonny Byrne and Kevin Gallagher - a chance encounter on Camden Street between former bandmates Eoghan and Shay led to a night of jamming at Eoghan’s apartment, which quickly evolved into a new stint of writing and a creative project.
Jonny and Kevin were soon brought on board, forming the lineup that would become The Violet Breaks.

Since then, the band have split their time between Dublin and Berlin, writing and recording new material with producer Matze Heising (Ella Endlich, Benne, Varley, Chaos Bay)

In 2024, they teased their evolving sound by quietly releasing two tracks —"Replay" and "Phantasm"— before unveiling their highly anticipated debut single, "Mercury", in late November. The release received widespread support, including significant national airplay and media coverage, establishing The Violet Breaks as an exciting new force in the Irish music scene.

Follow up single “The King” received further national airplay before the release of debut album “Triple Volt” in 2025.

“Triple Volt” has been described as an album that “bursts with energy…. and is really well crafted narrative musically” (Ignite Music Magazine) and “a testament to independent artistry, proving The Violet Breaks are a true force to be reckoned with” (mysticsons.com)

“Triple Volt is a testament to independent artistry, proving The Violet Breaks are a true force to be reckoned with. This is a debut that doesn’t just demand attention, it grabs you by the lobes and rarely lets you go” - Chris Bound, mysticsons.com

“This debut album from The Violet Breaks is a really well crafted narrative musically—one that shows they’re already ahead of their competitors (of which there are seemingly many in Ireland).” - Kenny Sandberg, ignitemusicmag.co
