Valerra

Rock // Ballina, Mayo

New Irish band Valerra unleash a turbulent torrent of infectious hard rock on their self-titled debut album.
Formed in 2012 the band are based in Ballina Co Mayo and are Noel Kenny on vocals and guitar, Sean Walsh on drums, Paul Newell on bass and Joey Kennedy on guitars.
They spent most of last year in the studio writing and recording with producers Chris O’Brien & Graham Murphy at the helm.
Both band and producers were adamant that before recording a single note, all songs had to be stripped right back to the core and
forced to stand up in their most basic form before production started. Spreading the recording over a period of a year allowed the band to keep writing new material and not
settle for the first twelve songs to hand.
Singer Noel says "After we recorded the first track Wounded Man the bar had been set so high that we knew that we couldn't accept second best."
Recorded between Golden Egg Studios in Portlaoise and The Production Suite in Dublin, the result is a truly epic album destined to turn more than a few heads.
With the album hot off the press there has already been interest from the American management agency behind Black Stone Cherry and Shinedown and some showcase gigs in the states
are on the cards.
With thundering guitar riffs, soaring vocals and anthemic choruses, this quartet of twenty somethings deliver a sound that will evoke the inner rock star in you.

Olaf Tyaransen (Hot Press)
"Valerra's sound is so highly polished and Americanised that if their self-titled debut hadn't arrived with a press release, I would've automatically assumed they were from New Jersey or LA. Tracks like 'Wounded Man', 'Pieces' and 'Plead' are right up there with the very best of them."

The band’s album "Valerra" and first single “Living in Stereo” are released on Stereoplex Records and are available
