Victoria Geelan

I am singer who writes songs without chords - I use the melodies in my head, the rhythm of the words and emotion they elicit to find where it goes. I have a sextet of fantastic musicians together with whom I performed a 2-hour set celebrating the life and songs of Nina Simone at the Derry Jazz Festival, 2011.
Have performed and recorded with a variety of musicians from across the genres including Mantic (psychedelic funk-rock 7-piece), David Lyttle (Irish jazz drummer), John Leighton (jazz and pop pianist), Connor Kelly (rock-poet), Andy McGC (African drummer) and Ursula Burns (song-writer/harpist).
