Walshy is a Dublin-based artist blending soulful jazz, boom-bap hip-hop, and dreamy indie elements into a sound uniquely his own. Gaining recognition for his production skills, engaging songwriting, and vibrant live performances, he is also known for his collaborative spirit, working with artists like Curtisy, lowkick, and Filipino singer eda to craft dynamic, evolving music.
His debut album few beers was nominated by Hot Press as one of the best debut Irish albums of the year and featured the Spotify UK New Music Friday-playlisted single Shower (feat. XO LU). Another standout from the album, Long Time, was played in H&M stores across Ireland, the UK, and the EU for a full year. More recently, a TikTok influencer with 500K+ followers picked up the track, introducing it to a new audience and giving it a fresh wave of traction.
With consistent radio support from BBC Introducing, RTE 2FM (Jenny Greene, Fionnuala Moran), and Rinse FM’s Jyoty, tracks like mm mm good (in the cellar) and Confrontation have gained international attention.
A key figure in Dublin’s live music scene, Walshy co-founded the Sleepover Club event series, fostering a community of emerging Irish artists. He has performed at Forbidden Fruit Festival, supported Dante Spinetta at The Grand Social, and his own album launch at Workman’s Cellar.
Recently awarded Arts Council funding, Walshy is currently working on his second album, set for release in early 2026. His genre-blurring approach has attracted industry recognition, with playlist placements on Fresh Finds UK/IE and media coverage from Wonderland, Notion, C-Heads, District, Nialler9, Hot Press, and GoldenPlec.
Walshy’s ability to blend humor with heartfelt storytelling continues to connect him with new audiences, making him one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging artists.
