Walshy is a Dublin-based artist and producer crafting dreamy indie-soul with cinematic ambition and emotional depth. Blending warm guitars, live instrumentation, and diaristic songwriting, his sound has evolved from jazz-tinged hip-hop roots into expansive indie-pop built for immersive live shows.

His debut album few beers was named one of Hot Press’ standout Irish debuts, with singles landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and Fresh Finds UK/IE. “Long Time” was playlisted in H&M stores across the UK and EU, later gaining renewed traction after being championed by TikTok creator @livwithgoodenergy (650K+). Radio support has followed from RTÉ 2FM (Jenny Greene, Beta Da Silva), BBC Introducing, Rinse FM’s Jyoty, and 98FM.

In 2026, Walshy enters a new chapter. His forthcoming Arts Council-funded sophomore album marks a shift toward a more melodic, band-driven sound. Recent singles “soulless” and “worth it” signal this evolution, the latter introducing a richer, full-band dynamic that has become central to his live show.

Now performing with drums, bass, violin and layered guitars, Walshy’s expanded live set is a core focus for the year ahead. Past highlights include Forbidden Fruit Festival, supporting Dante Spinetta, and a sold-out headline show at Workman’s Cellar.

With a second album due later this year and a collaborative instrumental project to follow, Walshy is building not just releases, but a long-term artistic world.
