Reuben Hester

Reuben Hester is a 26 year old singer & songwriter from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.

Reuben, who under his former stage name China Lane, reached #1 of the Spotify Viral Charts in Netherlands and a sync placement in NETFLIX series „Insatiable“, has been described as Contemporary Pop, Funky-Electronic orientated, with grooving rhythms and catchy pop hooks.
His appearance in the BBC show Little Mix "The Search" in October 2020, was the start of his solo career.

Reuben, who plays the guitar, piano and cello, released his debut single "Sold My Soul" March 19th. The song is a thoughtful but at the same time highly powerful contemporary pop song with influences from breakbeat, urban and r`n`b and a huge hymnic chart-breaker chorus.
The single reached the Irish SHAZAM TOP50 #50, Irish Radio Charts #34, and Reuben was Ryan Tubridy`s guest on RTÉ1.
His debut single was also featured by Spotify UK and is the Select Irish Song for the month of June on Irish UTV / Wireless Group radio, with a reach of seven figures weekly.

Even at this early stage, Reuben gets also media support from outside Ireland.
"Sold My Soul" is on BBC Northern Ireland Playlist „Where Music Matters" for the month of June, in the radio charts in the Luxembourg Radio Charts on #44 and had a 5 week daytime rotation on SWR3, Germany's biggest AC national broadcaster and spins by most of the German national broadcasters.

His second single, a real summer anthem, will be released in July.

Reuben is very much looking forward to live performances starting in autumn 2021.
He loves to play live. He has been doing that since he was 16 years old.
His stage has been the streets and he was busking all the big cities in Europe for many years.
But he also knows the big stages, where he had opened as China Lane for Sigma, Hozier, Toploader.
